GLAM´S LICHTSPIEL

1. Name a movie you have seen more than 10 times
The Misfits, All about Eve, Sunset Boulevard, Coppola´s Dracula, Romy & Michele´s High School Reunion.

2. Name a movie you’ve seen multiple times in the theater
Interview with the Vampire

3. Name an actor who would make you more inclined to see a movie
Julia Roberts

4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to see a movie

5. Name a movie you can and do quote from
Eve „peace and quiet is for libraries…“, Romy „let´s fold scarves!“ Grey Gardens „It´s the most atrocious disgusting thing evaaaah to happen in Amerika!“ etc etc etc. Basically I´m a fountain of quotations.

6. Name a movie musical in which you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs
ashamed to say Evita. Rocky Horror, Cabaret, Funny Girl, Moulin Rouge, A Star is born, Gentlemen prefer Blondes etc etc…

7. Name a movie you have been known to sing along with .
See 7.

8. Name a movie you would recommend everyone see
Aside of those mentioned so far: Frances, Giants, Some like it hot, Velvet Goldmine, Playing by heart, Rebecca, Suddenly last summer. Maybe, because „Playing by heart“ never had such a huge audience, that´s the one I´d recommend most. Then there´s my alternative MUST SEES: Alt, neu, geliehen und blau; Evil; Skagerrak; Sommersturm; Grey Gardens, Grizzly Man.
Der Glam-Kanon sprengt diese Rubrik. Ich hör ja schon auf.

9. Name a movie you own
All of the above and then a couple of hundred. If I werent so busy being glam, I´d be a Videothek.

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Judy of course, the vaudeville-baby. But even more than I like singers who take up acting, I adore actors who sing. Audrey´s „Moon River“, Glenn Close´s Norma Desmond, Goldie Hawn´s very sweet recordings, Tallulah of course, and Bette!

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?

12. Ever made out in a movie?
Let´s see what the boys in the darkroom will have… Me!

13. Name a movie you keep meaning to see but you just haven’t gotten around to yet.
Ganz sicher nicht „Lost in translation“ because I hate that Johannsen bitch and the old fart Murray. John Loseys Filme müsste man mal langsam abarbeiten. Cecil B. DeMille (bin ich grad dabei) ist überbewertet. I recommend you watch von Stroheim instead.

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
Mais oui. Irgendein Machwerk mit Béatrice Dalle, kurz nach Betty Blue.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
One of the reasons I don´t go watch them in the theater – the crying issue. I cry when I´m happy, I cry when I´m sad. A good film makes me feel either way. So I´m too embarrassed to go watch them in that ugly sticky smelly loud place they used to call „Lichtspielhaus“ (maybe, if they still called it that, I´d go from time to time.)

16. Popcorn?
Sacrilege! Popcorneaters of the world – go to Popcorn-places. Avoid Lichtspielhäuser.

17. How often do you go to the movies
Like never. Once a year höchstens.

18. What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
Absofuckinlutely can´t remember. Too long ago. Might have been „The Island“ with Mac Gregor and that Johannsen bitch. My excuse: I was stranded in MeckPomm.

19. What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
I love it all. Drama, comedy, musical, thriller, horror. The only stuff that bores me is martial arts and badly made movies of any kind of genre. Westerns are kind of a turn-off too. Maybe because I´d rather see those red indians in porn, a kink that I blame on a childhood-issue with Pierre Brice.

20. What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Mister Nude Punk America. Love it love it love it. Ganz sicherlich auch Grey Gardens. Grey Garden has re-ivented „weird“.

23. What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
„Ekel“ von Polanski und „Das Schweigen“ von Bergmann. Krieg schon bei der Erinnerung eine klamme Befangenheit. Auch scary: „Gothicka“ auf E!

24. What is the funniest film you have ever seen?
Funny funny: Romy + Michele, Connie + Carla.
Funny sweet: Some like it hot
Funny beautiful: The Prince and the Showgirl
Funny blonde: Legally Blonde 1+2
Alexander von Oliver Stone
Jesus Christ Superstar
und
The Wiz!
